C3 Church Malmö
International English-speaking church of ~250 in Malmö seeking partners to acquire and restore the historic Caroli Church as a 600-seat house of prayer and cultural hub in the city centre.
Building a foundation for Malmö
Our Vision
"To see Caroli Church restored as a house of prayer, a beacon of hope in the name of Jesus, and a creative hub that brings life to the city. C3 Malmö is an international, English-speaking congregation drawing together locals and people from over 30 nations around a shared love for God and for Malmö. "In Malmö as it is in heaven." — Matthew & Christelle Fourie, Lead Pastors"
Our Journey
C3 Church Malmö was founded in 2007 by Quinton & Susanne Litchfield with a simple vision: to build a vibrant Christian community serving Malmö and welcoming people from every background. Beginning as a small group of families, the church has grown into a congregation of around 250 people representing over 30 nationalities — uniquely positioned as one of the few English-speaking churches in this multicultural and multilingual city. Over nearly two decades, C3 has moved through a succession of rented venues — Hyllie Park (2009), Salvation Army central Malmö (2011), and later the suburban Salvation Army location where it took on tenancy in 2016 and launched morning services. Matthew & Christelle Fourie became lead pastors in 2022, with Justin & Linn Style ordained as associate pastors in 2023. Following the sale of the church's most recent building in 2026, services have moved into a new rented venue in central Malmö. Caroli Church — a Greek-cross "centralkyrka" built in 1880 by architect Emil Viktor Langlet and standing empty since 2009 — now represents the opportunity to establish a permanent, visible presence in the city centre and open a new chapter in the building's story.
Community Impact
Caroli will function as both a place of worship and a wider community venue: concerts, cultural events, music school partnerships, conferences, and collaboration among churches and benevolent organisations. The restored building is planned to host weekly Sunday services, prayer gatherings, children & youth programmes, a parish café and social space, and classroom and meeting facilities — bringing life, creativity, and care to a neighbourhood that currently lacks a clear focal point. C3 Malmö currently runs four age-group ministries for children and youth.
Property Need
Acquisition and phased restoration of Caroli Church — a protected 1880s heritage building (under Kulturminneslagen) with seating for over 600 across a main hall and balconies, in central Malmö, 500m from the Central Station. Recent exterior restoration (worth 30M SEK) is already complete. A dedicated property structure (SPV) will hold the building, with C3 Church Malmö as long-term anchor tenant.
